I use the bubble blaster on my protein skimmer. It's been running strong for over a year now. Have yet to clean it. I believe the pumps are identical aside from the mesh propeller.

Starts up pretty easily. If it does have trouble it will stop and start by itself rather than sitting and burning up. I believe it is considered a "smart" pump.

Mine is a bit noise but I think it has more to do with it being a skimmer pump than a return pump.

I would also like to know about the water blasters...if they are more quiet than the Ehiem pumps, my Ehiem vibrates very loud.

I run the bubble blaster 3000 and 1000 on my skimmers and run the water blaster 7000 as my return. Can't say enough about these pumps, they are fantastic. Quiet, very power efficient.

they are great pumps 3 year warranty and don't use a lot of power like some other pumps.
