Water Change During Rock Cycling

I have been cycling my dry rock in a brute trash can with dr tims ammonia drops + one & only + brightwell microbacter start over the past few weeks.

I had an issue with my nitrites getting very high which kind of stalled things out. I did a 50% water change to settle things out but I'm still showing nitrites.

Right now I'm at 0 ammonia, 1.5 PPM nitrite and 20 ppm nitrate.

I want to keep the cycle going so I am thinking I should add some more of the ammonia drops. Do I need to do a water change first to knock down some of the nitrates or should I just add more ammonia to keep things going?

I would add your ammonia.if zeros out in 24 hours than your rocks are cycled and then i would do large wc .

How did your cycling turn out. I plan on doing the same Dr. Tim’s and microbacter7. Did you just follow the directions on the bottle of both or just Dr Tim’s and used microbacter for different stands of bacteria? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks
