I would like to know how often I should do a water change on my new 10 gallon reef tank and how much water I should change

How long has it been up? What’s in it? What are your water parameters? Most do them every one to two weeks. 10-20% at a time.

I have two 7 gallon mixed reefs and I do 50-60% once a week. Important to know your water parameters and new water parameters.

I did 10% bi-monthly. It really depends on bio load, choice of corals.

Your tank usually tells you how much of a water change to do. The norm is 20% every week or 2. If you have elevated nitrates you will need to do more greater and frequent changes.

In a nano I would just do 20% to 50% a week, so 2-4 gallons in your case. It’s not worth over thinking, especially if it’s a new tank and you’re new to the hobby.
