Water change or not.

I’ll do a water change later today. Then another one on Saturday. Then test later in the day on Saturday. And update you guys about it.

Use your kits on the new salt water. A change may accomplish nothing if the new water is just as high. :)

Yes, that would be my conclusion as well. :)
I’m going to the lfs Saturday to get some clean up crew. I’ll take a sample of my water and have him test it. I’ll just wait to do anything until I have his results. I’ll update you with what his results say. Then we can go from there.

Wow I didn’t know it would take that long. I’ll just let it drop on its own slowly I have a decent amount of corals. Most are small tho. Is there any particular coral I could get that maybe draws more than others that would help it drop?
I wouldn't add any coral right now for this purpose

Um, wow. Am i reading this wrong or did everyone agree with everyone else on this thread? Did we just become best friends or what?!

LOL. I was just being a doofus. It looks like the consensus is:

Don't trust your mg test
Don't make any sudden changes
Establish an accurate baseline for where your parameters are now. LFS can help with that.
Add no new livestock until you're happy with the parameters and let it stabilize.

You are asking good questions and making good decisions from what I can tell.

I made 25 gallons of salt water down in my rodi system. Salinity was a little high at .027 my tank is at .025. But the mag tested at 1400.

Quick pic of my tank just cause.
