question! I just drilled a hole for bring water upstairs with new fresh saltwater for after I drain the water.

My question as of now I was planning on taking the water out with the one you hook to the sink. Is there a way I can run a line down to my basement floor drain?

Like one of those long siphons with a squeez ball and hook up 20 feet of tubing down to the drain ? I have it in the drain all I do is squeeze the ball to create a suction . To me that seems like it will work but will it ruin my floor drain overtime or clog it you think ? Would be best just to go to the sink which is not a big deal just a little more time ?

What are your thoughts thank you

It all goes to the same drain anyways so I see no issue with that. The only issue I would see is the “p” trap sitting with saltwater. If your floor drain is anything like mine, there is no trap, just a drain, the trap would be before your lateral line to the road. I would say as long as you are able to flush the drain with freshwater sooner than later it should be fine.

Cool thanks. My furnace humidifier pores water all winter in it and my ac as well during the summer but I could flush it with my hot water tank here and there. When I look down I see water sitting is there a trap?
