Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows a good pump to push water up from a bucket into my tank. I've heard this makes water changes much easier and many people would benefit from this becasue it is a time saver. Does anyone know of an affordable, and strong enough pump to pump water up 5 feet?

Also if anyone has an old pump that fits the requirements please pm me becasue I would like to buy used if possible!

Yep, almost any pump will do. If you don't want to spend $100, you can find what you need at a lower price point as well. Basically, you just need something that has enough head height to reach from your mixing vessel up into your tank... probably 3-4 feet would be sufficient for most situations. This pump, for example, is only $40 and should be just fine for your needs, though it wouldn't be able to scrape up the last bits of water like the other pump would.

Really any pump will do. However, there are pumps made for this that can help get the last inch or so from the bucket out such as this https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/ultra-zero-utility-pump-sicce.html
These work great for fully automated

But once I always get down to the last inch I just dump it in the tank manually anyway. Lift and hoist.

But yes you can literally use any return pump.

I just use my old pumps from my AIO tanks where I upgraded the pumps.

I have like 7 different non-DC pumps around, I should probably be more diligent and seperate them into "new clean water" and "other use" if I was being a good husband, but IDRC.

HEre $20

Also just orient it FACE down in the bucket, and you can almost get the same results as the $100 one with complete automation.

The sticky feet should stick to the side of the bucket and you should be able to get it within about 5 MM of water left once done OR at least I can when I do this.

I’m buying these. Great price, enough head pressure for what you’re wanting to do.
