I'm going to follow a 1 gallon wc a week for my 14g biocube, it is going to be a fish only tank for a while and right now i have the stock bioballs and filter cartidge and i'm planning on replacing the bio-balls with sponges and the floss with carbon. Good plan?

If your going with that plan, why are you using all that mechanical filtration?
But, yea, your ok with that, it'll work.

If you want to keep it prestine visibly, then floss would be better than a sponge.

Live Rubble will turn into the same Nitrate catcher as Bio Balls do. They must be kept clear of debre or you run the risk of them not helping the water quality. They don't do much for clarity though, they are for bacteria growth.
Micron filters and floss are for quality.

Would you recommend the same when i start buying corals?

BioBalls are kind of oldschool. I think you would be better with LR rubble. 1 gallon a week for a fish only is fine. Maybe if you turn it into a reef you will need to do a little more.

I'm worried about starting a mini cycle by adding lr now, I will in the future though. I will keep an eye on my nitrates I'm trying to get them to 0(and stable) before adding corals and more livestock.

Use dry rock rubble, or smash up some rock you have.
If your adding corals, and running a filter, maybe think about carbon dosing or using a biopellet to keep Nitrates in check.

But if i wanted to keep it simple as possible, just run bioballs and floss for now?
