Water change residue. Fine or problem?

I use 5 gallon jugs to mix RODI & salt. After every water change, I 'clean' the jug by blasting the inside with hot water and emptying it out. Yesterday I filled one of the SW mixing jugs with RODI and decided to test the TDS. It was 15...then I tested my fresh water RODI that I made the same day and it was 0. It looks like there's a build-up of residue at the bottom of my SW mixing jug which must have been from the salt mix. Is this a problem and I need to start thoroughly cleaning the jugs after every water change or the TDS here okay since it came from the salt residue?

Are you using tap water to rinse the jug? If so that might be causing the tds readings.

Yes, but there are only a few droplets that I rinse with and the TDS of my tap water is 80 so I doubt those drops can make 5 gallons of water 15 TDS. I could be mistaken though.

I mix in a plastic tub and will clean it out once in a while just for fun otherwise I have been reefing with the crud in the bottom of my mixing tub with no problems. I use IO reef crystals & it leaves quite a buildup.

With that rinsing method “just a couple drops” it’s totally likely that there is some residue remaining.... you can either rinse a bit better using rodi or not worry about it..... tank ok???

Yep tank is just fine. Was only concerned I wasn't being as thorough as I should be with cleaning or if I was being overly paranoid.
