Hi all! New to R2R and sumps so I apologize if this has been asked/answered before. I recently (9/10/23) transferred my fish and other creatures from a 37g to a 55g with sump. The tank cycled for 3 weeks with the original filter system while I built the sump, then 1 week with sump. My questions are 1. Should I do a water change this weekend or wait another week as to not further stress the fish? 2. Do I pull the water from the display, the sump or a little from both? 3. Does the sump require cleaning when I do water changes? The sump has a refugium that currently only has rock, cheato, codium and some caulerpa. Will be adding some hermits this weekend. Completely flying blind when it comes to the sump. I did lots of research about the build and what each chamber should have/do. But don’t know much now that it’s up and running.
Thank so much for any info/advice you can offer!

Water should be good another week but do a water test which will best tdetermine if there is a need for one. Ammonia should be .025 or less and nitrate 15 or below.

1. As above, test your parameters.
2. Do I pull the water from the display, the sump or a little from both?
It does not matter.
3. Does the sump require cleaning when I do water changes?
Not for quite some time...when detritus builds up, give it a cleaning.

I change water from the display.
Turn off main pump.
Only time I take from the sump is if I want to clean it out then I'll pump out a little bit into a bucket, trying hard to remove any nasties along the way.
Oh....
