Water changes and coral colors

hello,
every time i make a water change i see a big difference with the corals.
once a week 10%-15%
colors more bright, all of them are open and generally every thing looks better.

the question is, can i have the same status with the tank with out a water change?
is that means i have a lack of something and after a change they get it from the salt?

i have around 10 soft corals, i give reef energy (half a dose) once every 2 days.
but even before i fed them with reef energy they lookt pretty much the same

Do you know what your water parameters are? It's possible that you may have to high nutrients and when you do a water change it lowers it to where your Corals like. Are you doing any dosing with your water change?
