Hello,
I started cycling March 10th keeping high amonnia rates during 10 days (around 5-7 ppm); 21st of March started to have high no2 and no3 rates (above 2ppm and 75ppm with elos test and hanna respectively).
Do you recommend to do water changes ir order to get lower rates of No2 or I just should wait and let things go?
Thanks

My opinion, wait it out. But if you are still dosing ammonia stop doing that until nitrites deplete.

your nitrite bacteria need food to develop. you are adding too much ammonia for the beginning. my guide states too much ammonia will stall the process. did you seed it at the beginning? guide states 10 drops of PURE ammonia per gallon

Yes, it was at the beginning during 10 days; now the rate is 0.

Assuming this is a fishless cycle:

Don't worry about NO2 and NO3 right now. What is your ammonia at today? It really should never be above 2 ppm during your cycle.

hey mate I just started my cycle a couple of days ago and tried the Dr Tim’s one and only method with the pure ammonia. I’m getting a ready if 6.1 ammonia I haven’t added any more since day one(the directed amount) do you think I should do a water change?
