Water changes for you guys with big tanks

The best thing that I ever did when I set up the new tank (waterbox 190) was to incorporate continuous water changes with the Apex and Dos pump. We have a 50 gallon barrel in the basement with salt water plumbed up to the Apex and I do about 1 gallon a day. The only 'work' is making a new batch every 4 to 5 weeks. It really had been an incredible change from the days of buckets and tubing

We are lugging 8 5 gal jugs to the lfs buying 40g of mixed saltwater. Using a pump to pull out 35-40g ...every week right now. Hoping once the bacteria and the new pellet reactor start to be efficient we can go to 1-2x per month...
I have a 5 gal rodi storage jug for top offs but nothing else....eagerly watching everyone's stuff here now!

I use two 55 gal containers. I keep one filled with fresh RO water (for top off) and I use the other to mix water for water changes. I do a monthly water change on my 220. The tank is located on the first floor, so I ran flex pvc up to the tank and use a smart wifi plug to turn on the pump and pump it upstairs. Since I'm on a septic, I just run a hose out to my driveway for the drain.

They are. The tank is located directly above, and with the floor joists with 16’ span running parallel to the tank, I didn’t want to risk it. I placed 4 jack posts and 2 small beams underneath. Rock solid.

My system volume is 500 gals ... I keep roughly 230 gals on hand and do 115 gal changes once per month ... takes about 20 minutes to pump out and refill.
