I’m thinking about moving my sump to my basement, where I would be able to drain water to a sump pump. However it pumps the water into a lake behind our house. The lake is about 6 acres, so it’s a lot of water. Do you think the salt would cause a problem? I know the dilution would be massive, but long term...I’m not sure.

Being a good hobbyist whether it be fresh or salt we should not potentially be adding anything negative to surrounding ecosystem. even if chances are minimal of introducing something from salt to freshwater you should either let it go down drain to be treated through local wastewater plant or what I do is drain onto the driveway to evaporate in the sun. Maybe im just over cautious.
