Water changes on large aquarium

Just curious...do any of you guys who don't do water changes, or have automated changes, use a nitrate reactor?
No reactors in here just an empty sump. The tank is the reactor itselves.
Carbon dosing does the trick.

I do 10% weekly. I wouldn't do 10% monthly unless you have some a very high quality skimmer and some sort of chemical filtration.

Always love seeing your tank Glenn. Has any work been done translating dutch to English on your site, is your product available in north America?
Thanks m8

For those that change water by hand, how do you drain the tank? Use a pump, or vacuum?
After I turn off the return pumps, my sump holds around 45 gallons of water. I drain the sump through a secondary re-circulating pump to a laundry basin and refill the sump.

Couldn't I just add a tee and cepex right after my return pump, drain my sump that way?

indeed - that could be done. I've always plumbed them from the re-circulating sump pump as it's plumbed in a way for easier access than where my returns sit. I wanted the re-circulating sump pump to feed my UV (if I ever use it) and my chiller.

on my 150 - I use a waveline DC 6000. On the 300 I use a waveline DC 10000.
