I have a 12 gallon nano. During the early cycling stages, I started testing and dosing to get parameters in check. Once Parameters were stable, and a bioload was introduced slowly, I started doing water changes. My question is, Would it be better to do a larger water change (say 40-50% weekly or bi-weekly) with my red seal coral pro salt (which brings perfect parameters) or to just dose 2 parts and limit my water changes. If you saw another thread of mine, I had a bit of cyano (though it appears now to be gone :) via chemiclean). I'm about to do a 40% water change because the chemiclean, but wondering if in the long term, bigger water changes would be better than dosing because the high quality of the salt. My only concern is removing to much of the healthy bacteria in the tank and having a re-cycle occur, which could have drastic effect. I appreciate anyones feedback. The tank is looking good now, just want to keep it that way,

Water changes won't cause bacterial problems because the important ones are attached to surfaces.

One concern is if you have rapidly growing corals, you may need to change 30-50% daily to maintain alk, not 50% weekly, but you can find that out as you go.

thanks for the input. I don't have any SPS yet, just a few LPS and softies.

Nice nano! Honestly, a 20% water change every week and constant testing/dosing to keep your alk in check will go a long way in a nano. As long as you keep up with the water changes, your alkalinity should be the only real concern because of how fast it can swing.

I'd run on water changes until you find that you have to do them more than once a week. Even if you did, it would be a bucket at a time.
