would you do weekly/every other week water changes when dosing triton other methods? is there any benefits in doing water changes because full triton you don't do water changes"

I don't know if I wont to go triton other methods with a pellet reactor and tmc bacto balance/rowa phos"

or chop the sock area out my sump and go bigger fuge for full triton method"

whot you think :)

I was actually reading this a few days, ago but as far as I know you don’t do water changes, or unless called for following ICP testing. I’m no expert on Triton, but I think the principle is stable water conditions, testing, adding what’s needed, and water changes may well affect this

You have a choice of three different methods with Triton. The Basic one is less concentrated for Softy and or LPS only tanks, The Core 7 for the full Triton Method, (No water changes) and the Other Methods just for additional dosing to whatever system you are currently doing.

I am not sure what benefits you get with the "Other Methods" besides not having a drastic change to an already established tank. Since I am just starting, I am considering going with the full Triton Method from the start so I do not have to change anything down the road. I was thinking of doing like you said and knocking out the socks area of my sump to extend the refugium, but after watching the BRS spotlight on the Triton Method it states that a slightly smaller refugium is not a deal breaker so I will probably leave it as is and see how it goes before making any permanent changes to my sump.

Sorry I am not much help, but good luck with whatever you decide.

Here is my dilemma I'm considering systems - I have my CPR skimmer with Chaeto in it - but it's not a full blown "Refugium." The tank is cycling now so - Can I use the "Other Method" or "Original?" - I have a 37.5 tall with a canister filter - please skip the canister comments this is about Triton. Thanks all!

ok, so i'm new here, but have done a ton of research on the triton method, ( as well as the "OTHER" method,, and as far as everything i have read and watched. the only difference between the two are the minerals needed to maintian the Chaeto. Core program has the minerals, other methods leaves those out.. so, if your running a system with any macro algae, go for the core system.
