Water changes!

I'm fairly new to this. Got a 50gal FOWLR setup about 3 months ago and I've been doing fortnightly water changes of about 30%. Just wondering whether I should be changing more or less % each change and what the best frequency is (ie weekly/fn/monthly)?

My routine and an old standard is 10% monthly to bi-monthly for a mixed reef or sps dominate. How much you change is dependent on the bio-load, and how much you feed, and nitrates and phosphate levels in a FOWLR, and filtration methods.
