So I have been doing 1 gallon water changes via a AWC daily. I figured since stability is so crucial in the hobby why not do 1/4 gallon every 6 hours. So far doing the gallon change replenishes all the calcium and magnesium consumed. I do dose Alkalinity via a bra pump and A full dose of Kalkwasser via ATO. I replace approximately .7 DKH worth over a 12 hour course with lights off. Should I keep at the 1 gallon changes a day or do 4 1/4 gallon changes. What’s your opinions?

I think the smaller the water changes and more of them , the more stable your parameters will be. This will of course not work if you overfees since a small % of excess nutrients will be exported unless you have macro algae . What awc system do you use ?

I’m using auto aqua AWC. I also doubles up as my ATO. Cool, thanks for the feedback. That’s what I was thinking. So I’m doing 4 water changes now In a day. 6 hours apart 1/4 gallon each one.

What size is your tank?

your livestock and parameters will tell you if you need to adjust the amount.

Yea, I was more or less asking if anybody already had experience. Positive and negatives

I currently do 2% daily wc's manually with unheated water and have never noticed any issues with stability, I have done as much as a 6% wc at one time with unheated water (about 10 degrees cooler than the tank) and the fish and coral didn't even seem to notice.
