I have a stupid question. When doing water changes my siphon only works if the water source is higher than the outlet. This makes sense due to gravity but what are my options If I don’t want to have to dump my bucket into the tank? A motorized pump? Are there any other options?

Thanks

A cheap pump on amazon can get the water from the floor to the tank

Can you do the water change from the sump? Or add new water slowly to the return section of the sump?

If I had a sump I’d be good to go but I have an AIO so I’m currently gently dumping my bucket into the top of the tank and it really sucks.

I have tanks that are 4 feet off of the ground. I could not live without a husky can and a cheap pond pump to get water from floor to tank. This is a 75 gallon for perspective on the height of the setup:

All you need is the pond pump and tubing from a hardware store.

+1 to the pump.

I fill a brute, but can be any bucket, drop in an old danner mag pump with a hose attached and pump away. I actually have it pumping 100+ feet from where I mix my water to my tank.
