Have 46 gallon Bow tank, seems to be going good, there is about 50 lbs of liferock in it and have 5 fish and a lot of zoa's....anyways was wondering about water changes is there like a rule of thumb as to when and how much after tank is cycled...as of right now i do 10 gallons every 2 weeks..but zoa's seem to be shrinking.. would adding a drop of iodine a day help.. i also add a cap full (5 ml) of each Seachem Reef Fusion 1 and 2 daily plus...Red Sea KH Coralline Gro (5 ml) daily also......Looking for advice Thanks in advance...Rich

Your tank looks great, and 10 gallons bi-weekly should be adequate. Are you testing and have water parameters to share?

The zoas might appreciate something with a little more substance such as ReefRoids or BRS Reef Chili.

Ok i added reefroids today for first time...will feed twice a week...thanks watdachuck... My tank is set up with a marineland c220 canister filter, and a aquatop xyclone protein skimmer...I am very impressed with this skimmer...Also have 2 Fluval cp3 circulating power heads...I have gave up on dosing iodine as i can not test for it,but am thinking of changing salt when this bucket of coralife runs out and switch to Instant ocean reef crysatals as this i think will be more suited for reef...
My Levels are. TEMP 78 DEG. NITRA. 3 PPM
PH 8.2 PPM SAL. 1.024
AMM. 0 PPM DKH 10
NITRI. 0 PPM CAL. 360
Nitrate was at 20 before water change...
I have phosphate test but waiting till cal gets up to about 450 before testing for it....My test kits are by API...
I am using aquarium note app to track my tank levels...as it helps me check the API colors more accurately.
Thanks for recommendations...
