Water changes

Hey guys
I have a 20 gallon AIO tank with
2 zoa frags with 18 polyps each
1 hammer
1 RBT
1 ricordea
And I just found out that when my Kenya tree died in shipping I kept the rock it was on and it started to grow again which is fun.

besides that is a 2 gallon water change enough ? I used to do 5 gallons to battle algae and stuff but the algae has subsided and feel like doing a smaller percentage instead of 20%-25% to do 10%-15% beside remove nitrates what do 10% water changes do ?

I would do 4 in the future (15-20%)

Then I'm with @vetteguy53081 .... 4 is more appropriate. Things swing fast in a small tank.

Nothing more satisfying than watching a coral resurrection.

Some people do massive water changes less frequently and some do smaller, more frequent changes. If it were my tank, at that size, I'd do 2 gallons every 2 weeks. Larger systems can be more flexible.

Mmm very true things do tend to swing quick. Now question is biweekly or weekly ? Again it’s gonna be a soft/LPS tank no sps atm

I'm comfortable with my recommendation. I've maintained systems large and small. Frequent, small water changes are less stressful to the tank than large ones in a smaller tank. 2 gallons every 2 weeks. Easy peasy.
