Afternoon folks,
I just purchased a ro/di last month and I'm loving life. I currently have one 32 gallon trash can holding clean water with a water pump circulating the water and to fill buckets. I'm still hauling 5 gallon buckets up and down the steps to get it to my tank. I'm debating on buying a container to put under my 40 gallon breeder to store pre made salt water to make water changes easier. I'm curious on how you guys have your set ups and do you have a storage container next to/under/near your tank.

I have my RODI in my utility room along with a really long water line. On water change weekend, I just get out my brute tub and set it by the tank, and run the water line to it, and fill it up. I fill up my auto top off reservoir (which lives under my tank) at the same time. When I'm done I put it all away.

That sounds very convenient. My unit is downstairs and the tank is on the next floor up. No real way to plumb it or make life easy. Hopefully one day we will finish the basement and I can have everything located on the same floor

I used a dual head Reef Filler pump on a timer to change 1% daily, automatically, from two Brute cans plumbed together in the basement (88 gallons total reservoir). Only took me a few minutes each month to change water. :)

Yeah, I have the same problem. Everything is on the same floor but the tank has two rooms between it and the nearest plumbing. What I've got is the best I could come up with.

I'm working on a water change station like this one, just waiting for weather to break so I can clean out my (2) 55 gallon barrels

Double check me with some googling, but if I am not mistaken you can have fifty or a hundred meters of tubing on the inlet and outlet side of your filter, so you should be able to make the water where you need it. If you have room near the tank for the storage as you mentioned, do that. ( you can still keep the main water storage in the basement.) For really long runs I think I have seen people get the advice to use larger diameter tubing.
