What do you guys used besides those brute “trash” cans? Need something 30-40g. Where did you buy them for “cheap” if delivery?

I mean is there really another alternative? Suppose you can use a bunch of 5g bucket?

They are most certainly the most cost effective solution. There are many other types of suitable containers on the market , but those options are more expensive.

Space does matter. Want to have something vertically rectangular. Brute cans are too bulky.

I'm assuming you're asking about water storage containers and not necessarily portable options.

Ace Roto Mold containers. Rural King had very reasonable delivery prices but can't confirm if that's still the case.

If you want portable, brute trash cans on a rolling dolly is still probably the best option.

Most of the online stores’ shipping cost more than the containers.

Yeah. I thought I found a 30 gallon container that would fit my application.
Loaded it in the cart for about $65. Then went on to shipping and that was going to add $78.
Had to pass.

Stores like Rural King and Tractor Supply Company typically offer in store pickup, assuming you have a store like that near you. Otherwise, the best thing you can do is wait and these places will sometimes offer attractive sales and shipping options from time to time. I picked up two 40 gallon Ace Roto Mold containers from Rural King for $170 total (including shipping) in September of 2016. It took me waiting a few months, but it was an item on my wish list. Having large storage areas for RO water and salt water storage was one of the best things I invested in. I highly recommend having a water mixing station!

Norwesco makes some nice storage units. Do a search online and see if there are any dealers near you. It would save you the shipping charge.
