What does everyone try to keep their parameters at for keeping the best looking LPS? Specifically chalices.....

Cal.
Alk.
Mag.
Nitrates

Cal 400-45
Alk they like the 9-10ish area
Mag in the 1450 they LOVE high mag
No3 they also need a fair bit of them thats why they dont do well in zeo and vodka dosing tanks that have stripped all the po4 and no3 out.

opps i ment to say 400-450

I shoot for:
Cal 400-450 ppm
Alk 8 Dkh ish
Mag 1400 ppm ish
Trates I try to keep low because I have SPS in my tank as well.

I would acualy keep my mag a little higher then that you will see a big diffrence in them.

Looks like I have some work to do:

KH-7
Mag-1230
Calc 460

As far as I can read from my test kits NO3 natta.

like most stonies...stronger skeletal growth with high Alkalinity. Moderate calcium is fine (in part to maintain high Alk).
325-400ppm Ca, but 10-12dKH (I actually run mine more towards 14dKH)
cheers!

Are there any drawbacks to keeping it around 14 dkh? I've heard some folks say that it can adversely affect some corals(can't remember what type)

i have an sps lps mixed tank and everyone is happy. i've never liked high dkh and always run mine at 8dkh, calc at 420 and mag at 1300. this has given me the best results with an oversized skimmer and biopellets. also, i target feed every day.

Ca-420/430
Mg 1450-1500
KH 10.5-11.5
My tank is 90% SPS and the rest chalices and the thrive, my chalices do as well in frag tank that has its KH at 8 and Mg around 1400, for me chalices are the most forgiving thing I own, I get more troubles from zoas, but I run a ver low nutrient system.

Key like anything will be stability
