I’ve got a system, probably 4 months old. Had 2 clowns in there just over a month all happy.
Brand new coral rock, no substrate but are considering adding some. 350L system.

water tests all ph, nitrite, nitrate, ammonia, kh, phosphate all look good.

my water is slightly cloudy, yellowish when lights are off. Still got some of the stuff you get on rocks with new systems.

what can I do to improve the clarity of my water?

Yellowish water may indicate Dissolved Organic Matter.
Protein skimmer, Activated Carbon and mechanical filtration would be a solution. Cloudy water may also indicate heterotrophic bacteria, which might be from excessive feeding and relative immaturity of the tank.

Thanks, if it was related to organic matter I’d assume ammonia, nitrite or nitrate readings would be higher.

Ive got a skimmer going and filter bag in my system. Clear it regularly.

here’s a pic with lights off
