Water conditioner w/RODI water

Does anyone still use a water conditioner like seachem prime in their RODI water? I’ve been using at a safety i case RODI doesn’t do a good job. Curious if I am causing more harm than good trying to be perfect. Appreciate anyones thoughts.

If your RODI is working as it should, then you really shouldn't need too.

If you have 0 tds RODI, you should not need any conditioner. In facts, the conditioner would probably do more harm then good. Even if your RODI is above 0 or say below 5 or 10, it still probably is better than plus conditioner. My RODI works pretty well with my water source so my water has always been 0 tds. As a result, I do not have experience with muddling through with non 0 tds water so take my advice there with a grain of salt.

Even with 5 carbon blocks I have yet to get a 0.0 mg/L chlorine reading from my 2 TDS RO water (I sometimes use RO-only water for freshwater tanks). RO/DI, yes, but not RO.

The minimum detection limit of chlorine is 0.02 mg/L so it may be irrelevant. Nevertheless, I always add a little bit because the MDL is higher than what's thought to be harmful. Some wastewater treatment plants dose 50% more dechlorinator than needed for the same reason.
