Do you have any kind of spec sheet on the zephryhills spring water? RO/DI water is going to be 99.99% pure, and if its natural spring water there may be certain contaminants in it that you don't want in your tank.Hey guys question...I'm wondering the difference in water specs for RO di water and zephryhills spring water.?. 15 for alk? That is extremely high. Is the tank still cycling? You shouldn't be showing ammonia or nitrite if the tank is cycled. And yes, if your water contains calcium, and then mixing it with salt that also contains calcium, your levels are going to be elevated.Just for discussion purpose could that be the reason for my high alkalinity and calcium readings
Salinity 1.026
pH 8.0
Ammonia 0-0.25
Nitrite .5
Nitrate 40
Calcium 500
Alkalinity 15dkh
I tested twice for all with salifert thought I might pick up another test kit tomorrow to make sure not the test kit. Tank has been cycling for about 2 weeks. I was told my LFS to keep an eye on all my parameters over the first month. I have been checking the normals for 2 weeks and was suggested to look into the calcium and alkalinity couple days ago.15 for alk? That is extremely high. Is the tank still cycling?
