Water doesn't flow through filter sock

If it was me, I would use the sump as designed and keep the flow openings clean. They designed it to handle overflows in a certain order, I noticed that with my r-100. I don’t know how to modify it to use the chambers differently. Others may have something else to offer, but that’s what I would do. Those sumps don’t have flexibility for modification because of the way it was designed and it’s based on the water pressure being even to allow the proper flowing to the assigned chambers. I’m not sure I would buy it again if I started over.

I fixed it! The caddy filled with my filter floss and bio balls was blocking a major opening. I pushed it back and held it there with some foam and now all the chambers receive a lot of flow! 3 times more water got to the return pump chamber and I got a little crazy, opened up the ball valve and ended up overflowing my display tank ;). Now that my sumps working I ordered a new sock and some macro algae and I am going to start using my sump and refugium. Thanks.

Also, when the sump flushed itself I found the extremely decomposed mutilated body of a fish I thought died a week or two ago.

I have the nano cube refugium version of this sump and had similar problems. When the water didn't flow into the sock I put a more powerful return pump in and the water started going through the sock. Also, I didn't have very much flow in the skimmer chamber. I put a Koralia nano in mine facing toward the vents that lead to the return pump.

That is awsome :)
That was actually the most satisfying thing I have ever done. All that stagnant water flushing through the system! Unfortunately, there was also a ton of silt thats been collecting for a year or so from the lack of flow throughout the chambers.

Somehow, when the water overflowed from the DP it missed the major electrical source.. It would have fried EVERYTHING.
