Water fluctuation in skimmer chamber..

Will the slightest water fluctuations in my skimmer section effect my skimming? It's very little and my skimmer is working but should this part have no movement at all? This is where my drain line comes in and is making the water move up and down just a little.

depends how much fluctuation were talking about im sure it wouldnt be a problem if its like an 1/8" at a time but anything over a quarter inch would probably make it run awkward

Agree that small movement shouldn't be too big of a problem. What kind of drain setup are you using? You shouldn't be seeing much of a fluctuation once it settles in.

I'm using a eshopps sump/fuge r200 I believe I'm not using any filter socks and it drains down maybe an inch under water line coming out of a 90. I have the jeboa dct8000 and its on one the lowest setting. Maybe I went to big on the return? Here's a pic. Or maybe bring the pvc to a deeper depth? Not sure the movement is very little but just trying to get it with none...

I guess you can't tell by the pic but the drain runs behind the skimmer and is causing some ripples threw that first chamber.

They reason I ask is if I look at the neck of the skimmer where my bubble line is every time I get a ripple it can cause the skimmer to kinda make that same little motion if that makes sense lol.
