Water level and canopy

When I first settled in the level of my sump I realised that the skimmer was in half the amount of water it was supposed to be in, I had it in about 5 inches of water and its supposed to be in 10 inches, so hopefully you will be able to get your skimmer to play ball too, it is all a little bit of fine tuning at the start.

If anything I think I’m a bit over the recommended depth already, not stressing too much as the sump that came with it (reef octopus classic 110ss) is a bit small anyway so if it doesn’t keep up I may replace with a larger one anyway.
Im not running the big 7” filter socks the previous owner was so have some room I. The sump to go bigger if needed.
