I bought an Eshopps PSK-75 skimmer second-hand, put it in my sump, and watched it go nuts.

I gave it a day to break in, and that didn't fix it.

I raised up the skimmer so the water level is now only 9", and it is still filling the cup in minutes, even with the adjustment pipe all the way open.

Does anyone have this skimmer and know how low I have to go to get normal performance? Since Eshopps no longer makes this model, only the HOB, I have not been able to find the 'numbers' online.

That sounds to deep for that skimmer, try raising it.. I see people running them at 5-6 inches, this guy is running his about 4”

Thanks.

I sacrificed an old fish bagger with holes in it and was able to get it 'up' to about 5". With some tuning, it appears to be running properly now, in that it is neither overflowing within minutes, nor filling my return with bubbles.

Yeah, I believe it does. This one has issues. It 'skips' about 1/second, and the level in the skimmer 'jumps'.

It was free with the tank, so I can't complain too much.

the marine land maxi jets come with a vent to control the air intake and that’s what I put on my skimmer and it helped. Mine did the same thing
