Water level in internal overflow.

What should the water level be in the internal overflow box? I can adjust some pipe vertically to make the water level rise. Thanks

I like to keep it as high as possible to eliminate the sound of water falling through the teeth to the level of water in the overflow. I always use a second emergency drain though to make sure there is no chance of flooding.
