So I have been running my new tank for a few weeks and every couple of days the water level in my sump is so low where the return pump is. I have added some water back into the sump last week to increase the level but a week later it has dropped again. I am due to go away soon so what to sort it out so there is no issues whilst I am away.

I use a TMC reef pump 8000. Which is what I was recommended to buy for my tank size by the people who made the tank. I only run it on setting 7 out of the 20 speed setting.

Anyone got any tips or advice on what to do please.

What you need to do periodically is to top off the evaporated water with RO/DI to maintain the water level. You can do this v=every day or two manually, but it is easier if you have an ATO (automatic top off) system.

Look into a ATO (auto top off) it will replace the evaporated water. Make sure when you top off you are using freshwater (RODI) not salt water or your sg will continuously keep rising. I personally like the tunze ATO

This is the best option IMO, it’s a little pricey but well worth the money! Find out how much you are evaporating per day, and get a container that can hold a few days worth of RODI so you don’t have to manually add each day.

So it evaporates 10 litres that quickly? That’s crazy. I’ll look into one but I have no space to put one under the tank :(

10 litres a day sounds normal, that’s 2.6 gallons. That’s about what I evaporate in my 300g
