I am looking to get something to shut my return pump off if level in sump gets low. Looking for recommendations for a reasonable sensor

Float switches like the JBJ ATO system is all that comes to mind for me. Maybe an ATO system like Tunze is the answer?

+1 what Eric said. I'd work on controlling the water level with an ATO. Constant drops in water level mean evaporation which means your salinity is going up. Not sure if the constant swing will affect any of the corals and I'd not want my return to just shut down...no telling how long it might be before you get to it.

I have an ato I am wanting something to shut pumps down in case of emergency or if the ato failed letting water get low or a busted bulkhead etc.

That will work. I will be looking into that. I was just thinking of a failure or an overflow situation you never know
