Water Line

Mine is about a quarter inch above the bottom of the trim - if that makes sense. If your water is too close to the rim of the tank, then your return pumps are too much for your overflow to handle. Hang on back overflows will allow you to adjust the water level in the tank by adjusting the inside piece up or down.

The reason I ask is that the new overflow from Synergy has a template for hole drilling. It says to put the template to the top edge of the tank and mark and drill. That will make my water line about 3/4 of an inch from the top edge of the tank. That seems too close. So I'm thinking of moving it down 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

Any thoughts?

Subjective for the most part. I like around an inch.
