Hi, I would like to setup a RO/DI and Saltwater making station in my garage. Problem is the garage does not open to the outside, but rather to a common underground area that connects all the garages in the condominium. This means that there is very little aeration and diesel and petrol fumes generated by the family cars are not easily ventilated.
The stuff I keep in the garage after a couple of weeks has a fine layer of black dust.
So the question is: can I keep such a station in that environment and still have fresh unpolluted water? My plan would be not to have any wires coming out of the barrels so that they would be almost air tight. However, it cannot be completely air tight otherwise it would create a lot of back pressure on the RO/DI system, I guess.
One alternative could still be to slightly open the barrels when making the RO/DI and the close them tightly afterwords.
Would you say this would work or would there still be a risk of poisoning the water with diesel and petrol fumes?
Many thanks for your inputs
