Hey guys,
I have some hair algae on the sand bed, and a few very small spots on the rocks, and I noticed a very very small piece on my purple goni! I feel like this may be because I am overfeeding, so I am going to cut back on that a bit, but it seems every time I feed, everything gets eaten before ever hitting the sand.

LPS/Zoa dominate tank with Polyps flourishing!

Anyway, I have just took readings with my Sailfert kits and wanted to get your opinions on this:

Phosphate = 0
Nitrate = 2.5
Mag = 960
Cal = 420
Alk = 8
Temp = 77.5
PH = 8.24

How is your water flow and light schedule? I think those also contribute to GHA.

How do you have alk/calc at level with Mg that low? Its not going to affect algae, just curious. Also what is your salinity?

How long are you running your lights for during the day? Id do a 3 day black out. Add gfo/carbon and turn lights on

Just a thought.

I suspect the magnesium reading is a test error.

Otherwise, the parameters are fine, but the phosphate kit may not read low enough to really Say it is 0.

In any case, some algae is normal, so I wouldn't do anything unless it really bothers you.

Have 2 RW-15s on opposite sides of each end with alternative pulse schedules. Lighting may be the issue as my whites are ramped up trying to keep some SPS. They run from 11-7 while blues run close to same

Not sure on the mag? I do not do any Dosing. Salinity is 1.026
