Good evening everyone, I have a Red Sea Reefer Peninsula 500 (132 gallons). I started my system in June 2019 with base rock and adding Bio S for 2-3 weeks at 6ml doses (and still adding daily since startup). Then I started to add Pro Bio S and -NP Pro daily (6 drops of each) whicknI thought played the same role as Red Sea NoPoX but my Nitrites are deading 1ppm(yes Nitrites and not Nitrates) and Nitrates read over 50ppm and above (see pictures. What Am I doing wrong here!? I have been in the hobby for 5-6 years prior of owning my Red Sea Reefer and it is the first time That I start with Base Rock + bacteria VS good old live rock.

Your advice will be much appreciated!

Thanks

P.S. here are my water parameter

Honestly, that's not all that bad.. just a new tank...
I would do a decent sized water change with really good water, and let it go.
With a tank of your size, having your own RODI unit and the ability to store some water is just about mandatory IMO.
Tank looks great..
Starting with dry dock just takes a bit longer than using real deal live rock. The benefit is not having to worry about the potential pests on live rock.

Thanks for your input. What would you suggest in terms of water changes?

Doing 10-15% every couple of weeks is a good place to start.
On a new tank, especially one with dry dock as a starting point, you don't want to get to crazy with water changes. Doing to much to soon is actually detrimental.
For now, with your 50ppm Nitrates, if you could manage a 50+/- water change, it definitely wouldn't hurt. Over time, smaller water changes would most likely keep things in check.
Smaller is fine for now as well, but diluting the 50ppm to a more reasonable number is key. Smaller water changes up front dilute less and actually make more work for less results.

Thanks for you comments. I do have my own RODI unit so all good!
