how would I go about finding the seasonal changes in temp of the coastal waters of japan? Specifically 30-100 meters. I can easily find the surface water temps but not the temps at depth.
Thanks

Maybe contact a marine biology department at a local university?

(Local as in somewhere in Japan)

Used to communicate with a local Japanese coral biologist in Okinawa but haven't heard from him for the last 2 - 3 years now. At that time he was testing out sunlight effect on live corals in various acidic water level ....

At 30 meters, the temp will match surface temps. At 100 meters it will differ, but I don't believe data is typically collected except at a few locations around the world. If you dig hard enough you should find something.

This link has a graph of ocean temperature change with depth, in generic terms: https://www.windows2universe.org/earth/Water/temp.html

At 100 meters, based on that graphic, you are only going to see a 1 or 2 degree change. This is consistent with what I experience during deep dives in the tropic oceans.

I figured 30 meters would be similar. The seasonal temperature swings in sea temperatures in Japan are nuts. At least the surface temperatures are. Im trying to mimic these conditions for a project I’m doing.
