Do you have carbon in your filters? Are you using RODI? Carbon will clean your water, but you have to change it, at least every month. Did you stir it up prior to photo?

I put carbon in about 4days ago and yes i get water from lfs but i dont have a protein skimmer yet would that have any affect?

A lfs and 65 gallon with 2 marineland 350s switching to a canister soon. Just wanting to do a fowlr for now

Your rock doesnt look very porous or too much either, no skimmer - you may have a filtration issue. Hazy waters can be bacterias or other organics suspended in water column.
Canister filters doesnt remove organics dissolved into water as skimmers, but particles.

My opinion is that the carbon quality isn't good and therefore not polishing like you would want it. I'm assuming the marinelands have their own carbon inserts! When did you change the carbon last, and you might have to change it more often!

I am using charbon twice a year, couple of weeks each time - just to remove eventual chemicals I dont want there. As clarity of water - no effect. I am relying on skimmer only and have crystal water.

They have low quality carbon, which may make you change it more. When you do change it how does the water look after a few days?

I'm running a 57 g with 15 gallon sump, carbon/gfo, no skimmer, live rock, low bioload (1 6 line wrasse, 1 chromi, 1 snowflake clown, 1 blue tang, and CUC). I'm on a restart due to heater malfunction, and when I restarted my pump to skimmer crapped out. However running this without a skimmer, my water is crystal clear. I'm running a reactor with the gfo/carbon combined. I run BRS carbon/gfo high quality of each and have no issues.
