Water question/issue

I been having my tank for about 7 months now and I just started to notice on the surface of my water it gets like this stinky stuff it's hard to explain and I just put my finger and just move it around and it goes away but then comes back after a while ? Not sure if you can see it in the picture

For a quick fix you could just lay a paper towel down flat on the surface of the water. As soon as it becomes saturated remove it slowly. You might have to do this a few time but it should remove most of that oily scum. GL.

Its a protein build up. Flow will get it caught in the filters, so it can be removed.

If u have a power head put it the the top to circulate the surface

+1 it is acting like a protein skimmer. The ocean has the same scum floating on the top. Usually a lot of bubbles will cause this (just like your skimmer).
