If I have been using saltwater purchased from my LFS and decide I want to build my own RODI system and mix my own saltwater moving forward, am I okay to mix these waters via water changes over the next few months? There’s currently no life in the tank other than 3 dwarf blue legged hermits

Thanks

I always give it 24 hours ahead of time to fully dissolve, you could get away with it at the beginning, but when you get fish and corals it'll need to stand a while.

Yes you can start using your new salt water and just do regular water changes. No issue mixing with what you’ve been using.

Get in the practice iof matching the new salt water to your tank water parameters. Most important is salinity, temperature, and alkalinity in that order.
