Water storage bin

Hello all, is there any type of plastics that should be avoided for housing ro/do water or even keeping line rock in? I used to mix my fresh water in a new rubber type garbage can I got from Home Depot, just making sure to avoid something that could be trouble in the long run.

Brute (rubbermaid) containers are popular and any container made out of HDPE should be fine (unless it had something problematic previously stored in it). If you have a Tractor Supply (or comparable) near you , they have a lot of storage containers that can be used.
