Would a container that used to hold liquid bleach be good for water storage?
One of those 275 gallon ones with the metal cageWhat size container? If it smells, I wouldn't use it.

30 bucks. Not sure how much they usually go for? Most storage recommendations say it has to be rated for food/potable use. But 275 gallon storage if you have it cheap/free is a heck of a bargain, so I may risk it. But I'm going to let it soak for a long while after washing out several times and test for chlorine/smell often.
Its 90 gallons with 40 gallons in the sumpIf you use it. But you should buy some cholrine test strips that are use with rodi testing NOT THE POOL TEST STRIPS. If they read 0 for choline then your good. BRS sells them. .... INSTA-TEST FREE & TOTAL CHLORINE & CHLORAMINE STRIPS
Water can spoil if you let it sit to long. 250g is alot of water for one tank. How big is your tank?
(FRESH WATER)..
I used one for post meds qt. Fill it up with tap water, dump an intire bottle of declorinator for ponds from homedepot in leave it a week. Drain and repeat. No issues at all afterwards. Getting ready to add 2 to my system. One cryptic live rock, one a macro algae refugeum. One of those 275 gallon ones with the metal cage
You could probably buy enough thiosulfate on amazon or eBay to actually do that!Soak it in dechlorinator first if you use it.
bleach can be hard to remove fully from plastic.
The pond declorinator comes in liter size bottles and is highly concentrated. I believe 1 bottle is rated fo 20000 gallons. It worked for me, i used 2 bottles with new tap water with each bottle i left it for 3 days filled for each bottleYou could probably buy enough thiosulfate on amazon or eBay to actually do that!
