I bought a new rodi. I was wondering if I premix with salt how low can I keep it in the brute container(trashcan) with a powerhead in the container before I do a water change?

Depends on the salt you are using. Some salt contains live organics which means the salt, once mixed, cannot be stored for a long period of time. You mix, aerate and get the temperature up to your fresh water over 6-12 hours and then do a water change.

Salt with no organics in it like Instant Ocean, you can mix and store for an indefinite amount of time as long as its stored properly.
