I run the Ro/di system and my reading are 0 tds. Well when I transfer my water to a bucket to mix the saltwater I test my tds again and it’s high. I thought I flushed the bucket out. Yes, I bought the bucket new and have not used it for anything else. I keep a lid on it when not used to keep it clean. Any ideas to help? Any ways to clean the bucket even better? Thanks!

Do you rinse the bucket out with clean water before filling it and testing the tds? Could be left over saltwater in there if not. Not sure what else it could be.

I use home depot and old salt mix buckets with out this happening, fwiw.

Dust in the air and if it sits with water in it long enough, you get some bacteria growth among other things. As long as it is 0 coming out of the RODI you are good to go.

It must be left over salt or maybe need to clean the power heads. It was zero and I poured in the bucket and it went to 60 tds

I’d say it was salt, TDS total dissolved solids. Remaining salt has dissolved into your fresh RODI
