Had a question about water temp. I am currently running at 76 which at times drops to around 75.5. I only have 2 clowns at the moments and this will be a mixed reef tank. Should I raise the temp to 78F ? I've read for reefs 75-78 but then also people talking about being in the 80s.

Looking to add some Xenia this weekend and maybe a goby.

75 degrees should be fine. Coral reefs in the Caribbean can hit the high sixties without any problem.

I would say don’t chase it see where your home keeps your tank, my rook keeps mine ~77-78 winter ~79-80–81 summers I used to go crazy trying to keep water at a steady 77 but was a waste of energy chasing good range 75-81

My temperature fluctuates between 72-78, and I've never had any problems with my reef tank...

Think about it, I think in the ocean, sea water will fluctuate between day and night...

Thats true guys, thanks for the input. My tank is in my basement so I don't think I'll have a huge swing come summer but it still might go up slightly Also live Upstate NY so its been cold and snowy. I'll leave it alone. Just wanted to get an opinion on temps before adding anymore live stock.
