Water Temperature Problem --

Hi guys---My digital heater is set at 78 degrees
My digital thermometer says it's 79.5 degrees--
which one should I believe--?

The tank can run at a higher temp than your heater so the tank can run hotter than what your heater is set to (the setting only tells the heater to turn on).

I test my digital therm against a mercury old school thermometer just to be sure it is working accurately.
