I have had issues with keeping Salifert testing vials clean. It seems like they always have a residue and I am sure it is not the best thing for accurate testing.

My question is, for the titration type tests (alk, mag, cal) is it ok to use a glass test tube? Glass seems to be easier to clean.

You can use a glass test tube. Manufacturers don't sell kits with glass anymore due to them getting broken. You can also create a drying station like these.
