Yea, you have a long way to go. I would either test again tomorrow, OR add a good bacteria now and not worry about it for a week and test again. Id be ready for a large water change next weekend.

Do you have a Po4 test?

Wow. That is a lot of nitrite! Did you do anything to cure the live rock prior to adding it? It looks like it is loaded with dying matter.

Like @saltyfilmfolks stated, you have a long way to go. Myself I would not even test for another two weeks.

I believe it was just pulled from another system. IMO, its what lurks in and under most sandbeds.

ahhh, I would still let it ride for the two weeks:)

Add a 3" live sand bed, if you would like to make it easier to control nitrates. There is a great study on the effects of live sand on nitrates on advancedaquarist .com.

A LFS once recommended Dr. Tims One and Only Live Nitrifying Bacteria to me while setting up a tank. It works wonders. The toxins will drop at an incredible rate and the bacteria will cultivate in your tank to keep them low.

I also like to recommend Red Sea NO3PO4-X to eliminate nitrates and phosphates.

Nitrites are a little lower today and nitrates have risen a little , ammonia down to zero, couldn't find any Dr. Tims locally, so I used a bottle of Bio Spira, a few minutes ago, I'll test tomorrow and see if that helped any. image.jpg
